Autumn

After a beautiful summer at the cottage, I had lots of little projects on the go in our house, so have spent very little time in my craft room. This weekend it's been raining non-stop and I finally finished painting in our renovated bathroom. Feels good to have that done!

This evening, I decided to make a couple of autumn cards. I was blog surfing the other night and saw a card by Trudy using banners. Scroll down to the last item in her post.  I thought this was a great way to use scraps so these are the cards I created. Thanks Trudy for the inspiration!

For the smaller leaves, pinecone, and branches I used Tim Holtz' Alterations Die "Autumn Gatherings" on regular and textured cardstock, smooshing them with  various colours of Distress ink. The large green leaf along with the large orange leaf were purchased at Michaels store. I coloured the top of the pinecone with Copic marker and applied Crystal Glaze to the lower portion for dimension.

The stamped autumn border is by Great Impressions "H167", and the autumn verse is Hero Arts  "C3039". Tag is from the Just Rite set "Antique Tags One  JB-03775", sponged on the edge with Rusty Hinge distress ink.

The wide silk ribbon was sponged with Tea Dye and the smaller bow came in that colour gold. I added some tied buttons for a rustic feel.

Background damask pattern paper is the reverse side of Bo Bunny Double Dots.

I cut out quite a few banners and leaves from scraps, so I have enough to make a few more of these cards to send to family.
