Quick card for Brother

My brother's birthday snuck up on me and I made a quick card to get in the mail, so it would reach him on time.

I used my Cricut Expression to cut a pick-up truck from the "Just Because Cartridge" and tire tread from "Dude" cartridge. The truck is red Bazzill edged with Tim Holtz Aged Mahogany distress ink popped up with foam dots; fenders, door handle and bumper are silver mirror cardstock; Using my craft knife, I cut out the window and put in a piece of acrylic to look like glass. I used a woodgrain stamp to stamp the boards & sponged the edges with TH Tea Dye, then stamped "Happy" and "Birthday" on little tags placed in the bed of the truck.

The circle verse "Picking up Some Wishes for You!" (the pick-up is hauling wishes) I created using MS Word with Word Art program, punched out with a Marvy punch . Tea Dye was also sponged around the edge. The design echoes that of the tires.

Papers are by 7 Gypsies- Zanzibar 8x8" pad. Faux stitching around the edge.

First Card - Let's Ink It Up Design Team

Even though it is still March 5th here in Nova Scotia,  Let's Ink It Up challenge blog goes live on Aussie time. So it is now March 6th down under and I can post my first card as part of the new Design Team. The challenges will run every two weeks on Sundays with Design Team "A" and "B" alternating fortnightly.

Remember, to be eligible for a prize, no digi images are allowed when creating your card or project. Stamping must be done with rubber or clear stamps.

Inky Impressions is the sponsor for this challenge.
Inky Impressions is a rubber stamp company carrying images of the cutest little girls and animals. The inspiration for the stamps comes from the owner Nicole's little girl, MarLeigha (LiLi).  Each Wednesday Inky Impression's has a challenge and if you participate each week, you are eligible to win a goodie bag at the end of the month. \
Come play along with the fun!
Tanya has generously donated the following prize to the winner of this challenge:

One stamp of their choice and a goody bag!

Now on to Challenge #10 which is "Show us your Embossing":

I dry embossed the background of my card with the Sizzix "Birds and Blossoms" A6 large folder; also the top & bottom of the bird cage with the Cuttlebug Damask folder.  I positioned the bird's wing under the leafy scroll pattern of the Cuttlebug Bloom Dots folder, and when done, I think it looks like feathers. The birdcage and bird are cut with the Tim Holtz alterations die. The happy birthday verse on the Spellbinders Nesties Label Ten oval is embossed with clear embossing powder over Memento brown ink. Versamagic ink was used to sponge over the background dry embossing, the edge of the blue layer, the damask pattern on the cage, and around the edge of the oval. Some prima flowers and pearls adds dimension.
